Privacy Policy

This policy explains what we collect when you use 3dbio.co and what we do with it. In short: we collect only what we need to print and ship your order, and we do not sell your data.

What we collect

• Order details: your name, shipping address, and email, so we can make and deliver your model and send order updates.
• Payment: card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
• Structure data: the protein or structure you search for or upload, used only to generate your printable model.
• Basic usage data: standard web and error logs to keep the site working.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone. We do pass parts of it to the services that make the store work:

• Slant 3D (United States) — your name, shipping address and email, so they can print your order and ship it to you.
• Stripe — payment and billing details. We never see or store your full card number.
• Photon / Komoot (Germany) — when you type in the address box, what you type is sent to their open-source address-lookup service so we can offer suggestions. We cache the result for 24 hours. If you would rather not use it, click Enter address manually and nothing is sent.
• Resend — your email address, to send your receipt and shipping notification.
• Cloudflare — hosts the site and our servers, and therefore processes ordinary web request data.
• RCSB PDB and AlphaFold DB — when you search for a structure, the search terms go to those public databases. No personal information is included.

How long we keep it

Order records (what you bought, where it shipped, what you paid) are kept for 7 years, because tax and accounting rules require it. The printable model files generated from your structure are kept for 12 months so we can reprint or support your order, and address suggestions cached during checkout expire after 24 hours. You can ask us to delete anything not required for accounting at any time.

Uploaded structures

If you upload your own file, it is used only to build your print. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to use (see our Terms).

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing [email protected]. We will remove anything we are not required to keep for accounting.
